Seeking Pet Food Donations

Georgetown Animal Shelter is asking for donations of pet food to distribute to Georgetown residents who need some assistance during these uncertain times.

“Since our Re-Tail Store is temporarily closed, we will repurpose it as an emergency pet food pantry,” marketing coordinator Shawn Gunnin explained.

Bags and cans of unopened pet food may be left in the donation bins at the shelter’s entrance, or ordered and shipped to Georgetown Animal Shelter, 110 W.L. Walden Drive, Georgetown, TX  78626.

At the same time, the shelter is limiting the types of non-food donations it accepts to focus on the most critical needs.  Residents are asked to hold on to other items until the resumption of normal operations.

The shelter is currently accepting:

  • Unopened cans of cat and dog food
  • Unopened bags of cat and dog food, small to medium bags especially
  • Small bags of cat litter
  • Cleaning wipes and hand sanitizer for use at the shelter

If you or someone you know has an emergency need for pet food, please call the shelter at 512-930-3592 or email us at animalsvc@georgetown.org so that we can arrange a pick-up time.
