Georgetown Animal Services

Education For Animal Caregivers

anniedog1Animal Services provides Humane Education and Bite Prevention to elementary school age children in Georgetown. Humane Education includes information about pet overpopulation and the dogs and cats being killed in our county because of the surplus caused by uncontrolled breeding of cats and dogs. It includes information about responsible pet ownership, and the needs of pets which must be met by their caretakers. Bite prevention education gives young children advice and techniques on how to avoid being bitten by dogs and cats, which could expose them to Rabies Virus.

If you are a teacher and would like us to come into your classroom, e-mail Animal Services at animalsvc@georgetown.org. We have a program geared for preschool as well as elementary school children.
