Last month, Animal Control Supervisor John Torrez was dispatched to catch a loose dog running on I-35. He received an update from dispatch cancelling the call because the dog was hit and killed by a car. Even though it wasn’t required of him, John continued to the location to find the deceased dog. He scanned it for a microchip, called the company for the owner’s information, and contacted the owner. John took the body to the owner so they would be able to make arrangements for their pet. Thanks to John for going above and beyond and allowing the family to have closure with their missing dog.
