Holiday Schedule
The animal shelter will be closed Saturday, December 22 – Tuesday, December 25. (We are always closed to the public on Wednesdays.) The shelter will also be closed Tuesday, January 1.
Don’t worry about the animals. We’ll be here for them every day!
Adoption Event at Reindeer Run
The Georgetown Locker is hosting their 5th annual Reindeer Run to raise funds to purchase items for kids in need. We’ll be there with adoptable dogs to show off during the event. Come join the fun! Details about the run at: https://www.thelocker.info/reindeer-run/.
Low Cost Shot Clinic for Pets Nov. 10, 2018
The Georgetown Animal Shelter will conduct its final low-cost vaccination clinic of the year on Saturday, November 10, 8:30-11 a.m. The walk-in clinic is for cats and dogs. Help protect your pet from diseases they can pick up outside!
Pets may also get a FREE microchip with the purchase of any vaccine. No appointments. Cash or check only. The shelter is located at 110 Walden Dr., Georgetown, next to the McMaster Athletic Fields.
Dog Vaccines:
Rabies $5
DHPP Combo $10 (Distemper, Hepatitis, Parafluenza, Parvo)
Bordetella $5 (Kennel cough)
Cat Vaccines:
Rabies $5
FVRCP Combo $10 (Rhinotracheitis, Calicivirus, Panleukopenia)
All dogs must be on a leash and cats should be in a carrier. Payment is by cash or check only. (Debit or credit cards not accepted.)
The dates for low cost shot clinics in 2019 are listed here. The clinic will be held at the City of Georgetown Animal Shelter at 110 W.L. Walden Drive near the McMaster Athletic Fields. VFW Post 8587 Georgetown Cook-Off Sept. 21-22
VFW Post 8587 2nd Annual Georgetown BBQ Cook-Off
VFW Post 8587, our neighbors by the park, are hosting their second annual BBQ cook-off on September 21 and 22. They have again asked us to be the recipients of any funds raised at the accompanying silent auction. We are in need of donations for the silent auction and can use your help. If you have an item to donate, please email us at animalsvc@georgetown.org. We will collect the items at the shelter – be sure to tell us it is for the silent auction.
The more donations we receive, the more funds we can raise to support the animals we help to find their forever homes! If you are interested in participating in the cook-off, see below. And of course, come out and eat some BBQ!

Kitten Shower at Hillstone
It’s that time of year again! Kitten season is upon us, and we invite you to join us at Hillstone at Wolf Ranch for our kitten shower.

Thanks to the management at Hillstone at Wolf Ranch, light refreshments will be provided.
You will have the chance to meet current foster kittens and talk more about our foster program with our Foster Coordinator, Tonia Hermann.
Help us restock our foster kitten supplies by bringing in a gift off our registry.

H-E-B Adoption Event Apr. 7
Dogs and volunteers will be looking for Love-Me-Forever families at this adoption event, scheduled for Saturday, April 7, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the H-E-B at 4500 Williams Dr., near Shell Road in Georgetown.

Liberty Tax Adoption Event Mar. 31
Our friends at Liberty Tax are raising funds for the Georgetown Animal Shelter throughout March, and celebrating with an adoption event on March 31. Join us at 2803 Williams, #105, on March 31, 10-1, and maybe you’ll find a new family member to adopt!
Shred-It Adoption Event Mar. 24
Wise Counsel, a local financial planning firm, is hosting “Shred Fest” and wanted to partner with us. We appreciate the opportunity! Drop by 1629 Rivery Blvd., Suite 120, on March 24, 11-1, to meet some dogs, shred some papers and have a taco!
Join us for our 2nd Annual Shred Fest!
We will have a mobile shred truck on site for you do some spring cleaning to those documents that are taking over your junk drawer and office!
We’ll have “shredded” chicken tacos with all the trimmings for a quick bite to eat. The Georgetown Animal Shelter will also be onsite for an adoption drive!
Bring a friend, bring your dog, or just come for the tacos, but we’ll see you there!
